The Hakima Gate police in Amritsar have announced the arrest of the primary suspect in the killing of an e-rickshaw driver. The victim, identified as Sandeep Singh, also known as Bhadkkila, was reportedly beaten to death with sharp weapons during an altercation in the Dhapai area of Amritsar on a recent Monday evening.
Incident Details Emerge
According to the complaint filed by Mandeep Singh, a resident of Bharariwal village, he received a phone call around 8:45 pm. Upon reaching the Dhapai area, he witnessed the accused – identified as Noni, Amit, Harpreet Singh alias Happy, and three other individuals – assaulting Sandeep Singh with bladed implements. Mandeep Singh reported that he raised an alarm, prompting the attackers to flee the scene.
Information available with The Chenab Times indicates that the alleged motive behind the fatal assault stems from an existing dispute between the deceased, Sandeep Singh, and one of the accused, Noni. Police officials stated that Noni and Amit are residents of Dhapai, while Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy, resides in Satnam Nagar, Bharariwal.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities have confirmed that efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the remaining individuals implicated in the murder. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident, gathering further evidence and statements to establish the full sequence of events leading to Sandeep Singh’s death.
