Srinagar, August 27: Jammu and Kashmir is anticipated to remain under the grip of hot and humid weather conditions through early September, punctuated by scattered spells of rain and thundershowers, according to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar.
Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that the weather outlook for the region suggests generally hot and humid conditions from August 27 to August 30. During this period, brief rain or thundershowers are forecast at scattered locations, primarily occurring in the early morning and afternoon hours.
The forecast for August 31 and September 1 predicts a continuation of generally hot and humid weather. However, these days are also expected to bring one or two spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers affecting many places. The possibility of brief, intense showers during the early morning and afternoon hours has also been highlighted.
Looking ahead to September 2 through September 7, the weather is projected to become generally dry. Despite this overall dry trend, scattered places may still experience brief spells of rain or thundershowers, particularly during the early morning and afternoon periods.
An advisory issued by the Meteorological Centre cautioned that the anticipated brief, intense showers in localized areas between August 31 and September 1 could potentially trigger flash floods, mudslides, and landslides. Residents and authorities are advised to remain vigilant during this period.
In light of the prevailing weather patterns and the upcoming forecast, farmers have been advised to proceed with harvesting and other essential farm operations as usual.
