Jammu, February 26 – A senior leader of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has called for the establishment of the Bhalessa Tourism Development Authority/tag/bhalessa-tourism-development-authority, citing the need for improved infrastructure and promotional initiatives to boost tourism in the region.
According to an official communication from the Tourism Department, available with The Chenab Times, a letter from Rafi Choudhary, Block President JKNC and Leader of Gandooh Bhalessa, has been forwarded to the Director of Tourism, Jammu. The letter, also endorsed by the Block President of Chilly (Bhaleesa), underscores the necessity of enhanced road connectivity, accommodation facilities, and tourism-related promotions in the area.
The Tourism Department has requested the concerned authorities to provide their comments regarding the establishment of the proposed development authority. Additionally, the department has urged further action to improve basic tourism infrastructure in Bhalessa, ensuring the area’s potential as a tourist destination is fully realized.
The initiative aims to address long-standing infrastructural challenges and capitalize on the region’s natural and cultural heritage to attract visitors. The move has been welcomed by local stakeholders, who see it as a step toward economic growth and employment opportunities in the region.
