SRINAGAR: Several areas across Kashmir will experience scheduled power outages as the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) undertakes essential maintenance on key transmission lines. The disruptions are planned for early April 2026, affecting electricity supply for varying durations.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the Chief Engineer, Distribution, has announced that the 33 kV Soibugh–Wadwan line will undergo maintenance, leading to a power shutdown. This will impact electricity supply to Soibugh, Dharmuna, Wadwan, Rasoo, Gotpora, Chatbugh, Pymus, Gariend, Nadigam, Banggam, Wahpora, and adjoining areas. The scheduled outage for this line is slated to occur on April 8, 2026, between 09:00 AM and 12:30 PM.
In a separate notification, the KPDCL stated that the 33 kV Bemina–Fateh Kadal and 33 kV Bemina–Barbarshah lines will also be subject to maintenance. Consequently, power supply will be disrupted in K.K. Mohalla, Nowpora, Bohrikadal, Babademb, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Nai Sarak, Barbarshah, Exchange, Basantbagh, Car Parking, Maisuma Bazar, and surrounding localities. This shutdown is scheduled for April 11 and April 13, 2026, with power expected to be unavailable between 10:00 AM and 03:00 PM on both days.
Furthermore, the 33 kV Beerwah–Arizal Tapline is set to undergo maintenance work. This will result in a power disruption affecting Arizal, Zanigam, Reyar, Doodhpathry, and other nearby areas. The outage for this particular tapline is scheduled for April 8, 2026, commencing at 09:00 AM and concluding at 03:00 PM.
Residents residing in the affected vicinities have been advised by the KPDCL to make necessary arrangements for power usage during these scheduled outage periods. The corporation aims to complete the maintenance work efficiently to restore normal power supply as soon as possible following the completion of the necessary upgrades and repairs.
