Jammu and Kashmir Circuit House Srinagar Inaugurates New Accommodation Block

SRINAGAR: A new, three-storey accommodation block, featuring 18 rooms including standard units and suites, has been inaugurated at the Circuit House in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The facility aims to enhance hospitality infrastructure for visiting dignitaries and guests.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the project was executed by the Public Works (R&B) Department under the Capex budget with an expenditure of Rs 7.81 crore. The inauguration ceremony was attended by various officials, including the Deputy Chief Minister, a Member of the Legislative Assembly, and secretaries from the Hospitality and Protocol Department.

The newly constructed block comprises a basement, ground floor, and two upper floors. It is equipped with modern amenities such as a 13-passenger OTIS lift, a central heating system, and air conditioning. Accessibility features, including a ramp, have also been incorporated. The design blends contemporary aesthetics with traditional Kashmiri architectural elements.

Standard accommodation rooms feature wallpapered walls, carved rubberwood bed-back panels, Khatamband ceilings, and laminated flooring. The suites offer premium finishes, including laminated wall panels, MDF slat walls, Duco-finished fittings, and Khatamband ceiling work. These design choices aim to provide comfortable and culturally resonant lodging.

Following the inauguration, officials inspected the building’s facilities. The quality of construction, aesthetic appeal, and integration of traditional architectural features were noted. The upgraded accommodation is expected to bolster hospitality services within Jammu and Kashmir, thereby improving the experience for visitors to the region.

The Public Works (R&B) Department was responsible for the construction, adhering to standards for modern infrastructure development. The project’s completion marks an upgrade to the state’s capacity to host official guests and dignitaries, contributing to the overall visitor experience in Srinagar.
