Police in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested Firoz alias Bhoora, the son of former state minister and meat trader Haji Yaqoob Qureshi, for allegedly threatening a neighbour with a pistol. Two associates of Firoz are also being sought in connection with the incident.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the arrest followed a complaint lodged by Haji Siraj, a resident of Sarai Bahleem area in Meerut. According to Siraj’s complaint, Firoz and his two accomplices arrived at his residence at night, engaged in verbal abuse, and attempted to force entry into his house.
During the alleged confrontation, Firoz reportedly brandished a pistol and issued death threats to the complainant and his family. Police confirmed that a case has been registered against the three individuals based on Siraj’s complaint and corroborating CCTV footage of the incident.
Meerut Superintendent of Police (City) Vinayak Gopal Bhosle stated that a video circulating on social media platforms depicted three young men, one of whom was visibly carrying a weapon. In response to the allegations, authorities swiftly formed four police teams to apprehend the accused.
Following an intensive search, Firoz alias Bhoora, identified as the primary accused in the case, was taken into custody on Tuesday. Legal proceedings are currently underway concerning his arrest and the ongoing investigation into the incident.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding law and order in certain areas, with law enforcement agencies emphasizing their commitment to addressing such incidents promptly.
