An unidentified militant was killed while as a SoG man was injured in the fresh firing in the ongoing gunfight at Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district while as an army officer was injured in the initial exchange of firing, official sources said.
They told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an encounter raged in the morning in Yiddipora, Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after joint teams of army, police and CRPF men laid a siege on the basis of a credible information about presence of militants.
Defence spokesman in Srinagar Rajesh Kalia said that a fierce gunfight is on after evacuation of civilians from the areas. “One officer injured during the operation. Joint operation in progress,” he said.
