Kashmir: 63-yr-old man crushed to death by train in Qazigund

On Friday morning, a train crushed a 63-year-old man in Badragund area of Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Ghulam Nabi Chopan, son of Abdul Aziz Chopan of Vessu Qazigund, a retired government employee of the Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department, was crushed by a train at around 11:00 a.m., resulting in his death on the spot, according to an official.

“It was unknown whether he committed suicide,” an official said, adding that police are looking into the matter.

Reshi Irshad, Station House Officer (SHO) Qazigund, also confirmed the incident.
