Suresh Sharma, JKFCEF’s spokesman, convened a virtual meeting of state executives of JKFCEF, now JK Forest Development Corporation Employees Forum. It was noted with pain and anguish that, in spite of clear provisions in the approved budget, the 71% DA and the 7th pay commission report are still a dream for poor and hardworking FDC employees. Sharma warned the government that withholding DA is a criminal act on its part because this component is directly linked to the PRICE INDEX and employees must defray inflation due to price increases at all costs. It is an irony that even though most PSUs have implemented the 7 P.C report and are being paid full DA, for unexplained reasons, FDC employees are deprived of these legitimately sanctioned and approved financial benefits for no fault of theirs.
Inspite of repeated letters, particularly the one made last month by JKFCEF to the Honble LG, Chief Secretary, and CS Forests, no action has been taken so far, resulting in a lot of discontentment amongst the employees who are forced to work like bonded labour on trimmed salaries and it has become very difficult for them to meet both ends.
Sharma appealed to Financial Commissioner Atul Dullu Sahib and clarified that every employee of FDC is honestly putting all efforts to generate revenue and employees have no much more role to play as projects for extraction and sale of timber are being prepared and finalised by management and employees cannot be held responsible if there is any so-called gap between revenue and expenditure-an illogical query raised often by Sectt.
In spite of repeated requests, no hearing has been given to JKFCEF, which has forced us to rethink going on strike. The decision, which is being taken very shortly after consultation with all.
Sharma appealed to the Financial Commissioner to release 71% DA and release 7 P.Cpay component immediately as proposed by management, otherwise employees will come on roads and the entire responsility will be of the government. He also urged the management to immediately hold DPC of all cadres, release time bound and other arrears, decide on SRO cases, transfer provident money to a single central account and resolve other issues. S/Sh. Aijaz Darzi, C.K. Sudan, Irfan Fareedi, Ab Majeed, Yaseen Gazriyal, Majid Rashid, Brij Mohan, Taskeen Bhat, Chaman Lal Sharma, Sharief Sohail, Manjit Singh, Altaf Hussain, Mohd Shafi, cl. Mujahid Mir, Sandip Sharma, Mohd Raza Qazim, Gopal Suberia, etc. The JKFCEF president, who attended in virtual mode, pledged to remain united under the banner of JKFCEF and appealed to all employees to tighten their belts for strike as there remains no alternative and the financial year 2021-22 is going to lapse.
