In a commendable effort to combat illegal mining activities across the district, the District Mineral Officer (DMO) of Doda, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan, successfully seized two trolleys and two heavy excavators involved in illegal mining in the Bhalla area. The operation, carried out in collaboration with the revenue department, District Mineral Officer of Doda Sunil Kumar Manhas, Naib Tehsildar Bhalla, and the Choki Officer of Bhalla Choki, marks a significant step towards addressing the issue of unauthorized mining.

Recently, the DMO Doda, in conjunction with the Naib Tehsildar Bhalla, also confiscated one LNT machine and the dumps of crushed material at Dar Crusher in Bhaderwah. These meticulous seizure operations were conducted in strict adherence to the laws outlined in the Mineral Act, reflecting the administration’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting the region’s valuable natural resources.

Although there have been concerns among the local population about the prevalence of illegal mining activities in the district, the recent seizures indicate a strong stance by the authorities to tackle the issue head-on. By taking decisive action, the district administration has demonstrated their dedication to curbing illegal mining practices and preserving the environment for future generations.

The successful operations serve as a testament to the coordinated efforts of the concerned departments, including the District Mineral Officer, revenue department, Naib Tehsildar Bhalla, and the Choki Officer of Bhalla Choki. Together, they have effectively tackled the menace of illegal mining, sending a clear message that such activities will not be tolerated within the Bhalla area.

These initiatives play a pivotal role in promoting sustainable development and ensuring the responsible utilization of mineral resources. The administration’s unwavering commitment to enforcing the law and safeguarding the district’s natural resources is evident through the seizure of the trolleys, heavy excavators, LNT machine, and crushed material.

While acknowledging the recent success in curbing illegal mining activities, it is imperative for the administration to remain vigilant and continue their efforts to eliminate such practices entirely. The concerns raised by the local population should not be ignored, and sustained action should be taken to address their grievances and protect the district from further unauthorized mining activities.

The administration’s dedication to preserving the district’s natural resources and upholding the law is commendable. It is crucial for the authorities to maintain this momentum, ensuring that the message against illegal mining is reiterated strongly, and appropriate measures are implemented to prevent any resurgence of such activities in the future.
