In a significant breakthrough, the Kulgam police, in coordination with 1RR, 9RR, 18 Bn CRPF, and 46 BN CRPF, have claimed to have dismantled two militant modules operating in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Five individuals associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Hybrid have been apprehended in connection with these operations.
Police statement claims that the joint operation resulted in the arrest of the militants and the confiscation of a cache of weapons and ammunition. The recovered items include “02 Pistols, 03 Hand Grenades, 01 UBGL (Under Barrel Grenade Launcher), Pistol magazine 02, pistol rounds 12, and AK 47 Rounds 21,” as per the post shared by Kulgam Police on micro-blogging website X.

The arrested individuals in this operation include Aadil Hussain Wani, a resident of Poniwah; Suhail Ahmad Dar, hailing from Bugam; Aitmad Ahmad Laway, a resident of Brazilian Jageer; Mehraj Ahmad Lone, from Hawoora; and Sabzar Ahmad Khaar, who resides in Ghat Redwani Payeen. These individuals, allegedly associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Hybrid, were apprehended in a joint operation.
Two separate cases have been registered in connection with these arrests. Case FIR No. 62/2023 has been filed at Police Station Qaimoh, while Case FIR No. 167/2023, under relevant sections of the law, has been registered as well. The authorities have initiated further investigations into both cases.
