Ababeel NGO has raised more than Rs 1.17 crore in just four days to assist victims of a devastating fire in Warwan, which destroyed approximately 50 houses, including a Jama Masjid, displacing numerous families as winter approaches.
The fundraising campaign commenced immediately following the incident, which occurred on 13th of October, prompting swift action from the community and various Ababeel units. The organization has reported significant contributions from local residents, businesses, and other stakeholders who rallied to support those affected by the tragedy.
As of Day 4, the funds raised by each Ababeel unit include Rs 64,65,554 from the Doda unit, Rs 31,06,723 from Kishtwar, Rs 7,78,358 from Thathri, Rs 7,38,177 from Bhalessa, Rs 90,170 from Chatroo, Rs 87,686 from Dhadpeth, Rs 2,05,890 from Bhaderwah, and Rs 2,87,811 from Jammu. In total, the organization has successfully raised Rs 1,17,60,369.
The success of the initiative reflects a strong sense of community support and engagement in the wake of the disaster. Ababeel officials expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response, noting that the contributions will provide essential relief items, including blankets, clothing, and food supplies to those impacted by the fire.
Ababeel NGO intends to utilize the funds for immediate relief and long-term reconstruction efforts in Warwan. The organization aims to not only provide necessary supplies but also support the rebuilding of homes and community infrastructure to help families recover. “The generosity demonstrated by our community is truly remarkable,” said Mohd Shafqat Qasmi, an Ababeel representative. “This collective effort will enable us to provide crucial support to those in need and help them rebuild their lives.”
As the organization continues its mission to aid the victims of the Warwan fire, it invites ongoing contributions from the public to sustain relief efforts and support affected families.
