Five days after suffering injuries in a scuffle with his Nephew over a land dispute, a man hailing from Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district succumbed to his injuries on Sunday at SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura.
Officials told that a man identified as Abdul Gani Mir, son of Mohammad Sadiq Mir of Dupathyar, Bijbehara was critically injured during a scuffle on 12 May with his Nephew at Dupathyar following which he was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for treatment where from he was referred to SKIMS, Soura.
However, the man succumbed to his injuries today at the SKIMS, Soura, they said.
The accused Riyaz Mir, son of Khazir Mir has been arrested while a case under FIR number 125/2021 under sections 307, 354, 323, 447 IPC has been registered and further investigation is going on, a police official said.
