After a four-year-old girl was mauled to death by a leopard in the district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Syed Shahbaz Mirza, on Friday suspended Range Officer Wildlife Department Ompora for dereliction of duty.

The district administration in Budgam, according to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), announced in a tweet that Range Officer Wildlife Department has been suspended for dereliction of duty.
“In the aftermath of leapord mauling a 4-year-old girl to death, DC Budgam suspends Range Officer Wildlife Deptt.Ompora for dereliction of duty.” It tweeted, “Chairs Emergency Meeting; key decisions made in meeting to prevent any further unfortunate incidents in the future.”
In addition, the administration decided in a meeting to eliminate the man-eater leopard.
