Srinagar Police Arrest 11, Recover Stolen Property in Two Theft Cases

Srinagar police have apprehended 11 individuals in connection with two separate theft cases within the city, leading to the recovery of stolen property. The arrests were made following investigations into two registered first information reports (FIRs) filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, the Jammu and Kashmir Police announced on Sunday that the crackdown was a result of diligent investigation and questioning of suspects. The police acted on specific disclosures made during the interrogations, which pinpointed the individuals involved in the thefts.

Officials stated that the accused were subjected to thorough questioning as part of the ongoing probe into the criminal activities. This intensive investigation process resulted in the successful recovery of various items that had been stolen and were linked to the registered cases. The seizures were conducted in the presence of independent witnesses, adhering strictly to all legal formalities and procedures.

The individuals arrested in connection with these cases have been identified as Arif Ahmad Najar, also known as Sharukh, from Mujgund; Shahid Ahmad Lone, alias Shahid Kalla, from Maloora; Bilal Ahmad Dar, alias Bilal Sharabi, from Parimpora Ghat; Mansoor Yousuf Pampori, alias Basit, from Usman Abad Shalteng; Mohd Rafiq Ganaie from Palpora Pamposh Colony; Owais Manzoor from Pamposh Colony Palpora; Tahir Habib Shagoo from Palpora Pamposh Colony; Muneeb Farooq, alias Michal, from Seki Madan Shalteng; Suhail Sadiq Joo from Kupwara, currently residing in HMT; Shahid Ahmad Bhat from Maloora; and Tariq Ahmad Dar from Mehjoor Nagar.

Police have confirmed that all eleven individuals have been formally arrested and booked in relation to the respective theft cases. The recovery of the stolen property is expected to bring a measure of relief to the victims and demonstrate the effectiveness of the police’s investigative efforts.

The investigation into both theft cases is continuing, with authorities aiming to uncover any further connections or accomplices involved in the criminal network. The police department has emphasized its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of citizens within Srinagar.
