Oscar and Grammy-winning composer A.R. Rahman is set to perform at the Attari Border in a special musical tribute dedicated to the Border Security Force (BSF). The announcement was made by the creators of the upcoming film “Main Vaapas Aaunga.”
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the event, titled “Jai Ho – A Tribute to the Bravehearts,” is scheduled for Sunday. The performance will take place between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm, coinciding with the Beating Retreat ceremony at the Joint Check Post (JCP) Stadium in Attari, Punjab.
This unique tribute to the BSF personnel, who are responsible for guarding India’s frontiers, is being organised by the team behind director Imtiaz Ali’s film “Main Vaapas Aaunga.” The event is being promoted as a first-of-its-kind initiative to honour the dedication and service of the BSF.
Joining A.R. Rahman at the ceremony will be Imtiaz Ali, actor Vedang Raina, and singers Mohit Chauhan and Pooja Tiwari, along with Nargis, all of whom have contributed to the soundtrack of the forthcoming movie. Representatives from the film’s production houses, Birla Studios, Applause Entertainment, and Mohit Choudhary, are also expected to attend.
The film “Main Vaapas Aaunga,” described as a “charming story of love and longing,” features a notable cast including Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari Wagh, and Naseeruddin Shah, with Vedang Raina also in a key role. This project marks a significant collaboration, reuniting the acclaimed trio of Imtiaz Ali, A.R. Rahman, and lyricist Irshad Kamil, who previously collaborated on successful projects such as “Rockstar,” “Tamasha,” and “Amar Singh Chamkila.”
“Main Vaapas Aaunga” is slated for a theatrical release on June 12.
