Sameep Singh Gumtala of the Fly Amritsar Initiative highlighted the strategic importance of the Amritsar–Noida route, stating that it will reinforce domestic travel links from Punjab. He further noted that the service will provide smooth access to southern India, particularly through the Hyderabad flight connection. Industry observers anticipate that the new service will cater to a diverse range of travellers, including religious pilgrims, business professionals, tourists, and members of the Punjabi diaspora who frequently travel between Amritsar and various parts of the country.

Industry analysts suggest that this new route could present a competitive alternative to passengers who currently transit through Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. A key advantage cited is the Noida International Airport’s potential for reduced congestion in its initial operational phases compared to the highly busy Delhi airport. This is expected to translate into faster passenger transfers and shorter connection times, enhancing the overall travel experience.

With the operationalization of Noida Airport, travellers originating from Amritsar will gain enhanced access to onward flights to a variety of cities. These include popular destinations such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Lucknow, all accessible through this new aviation hub. Aviation experts view this development as a crucial step in bolstering the domestic route network of Amritsar Airport, which has shown consistent growth in passenger volume and airline operations in recent years.

The introduction of this daily service is expected to stimulate further economic activity and tourism in both Amritsar and the surrounding regions of Punjab. By offering a more direct and potentially less congested travel option to the NCR and beyond, the route aims to make travel more efficient and appealing to a wider demographic of air travellers.

The expansion of air services from Amritsar reflects a broader trend of enhancing regional connectivity across India, driven by the development of new airport infrastructure and the strategic route planning of airlines like IndiGo. The focus on integrating Tier-2 cities with major aviation hubs underscores a commitment to democratizing air travel and boosting economic opportunities through improved accessibility.
