Police in Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district have arrested a photographer accused of creating a fake social media account in a woman’s name and using it to send obscene messages to others. The Vuyyuru circle inspector’s team and cybercrime police apprehended the suspect following a complaint.
Accused Sent Obscene Messages in Woman’s Name
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the arrest was made after investigations confirmed that the accused had established a fraudulent online presence. The suspect allegedly utilized this fake account to disseminate objectionable communications to various individuals, impersonating the woman.
The district Superintendent of Police (SP), V. Vidyasagar Naidu, confirmed the details of the arrest and the nature of the alleged online activity. The SP stated that the accused had been sending obscene messages to others while posing as the woman whose identity he had appropriated. The police team has initiated further investigation into the case to ascertain the full extent of the online harassment and the number of individuals affected by the accused’s actions.
The Vuyyuru circle inspector’s team, in collaboration with the cybercrime police, conducted the operation that led to the apprehension. Sources indicate that the investigation was triggered by a formal complaint lodged by the victim, who became aware of the fake account and the malicious content being circulated under her name. The immediate action by the police aimed to prevent further misuse of the woman’s identity and to apprehend the perpetrator.
