Tension gripped a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli district on Wednesday after unidentified individuals smeared mud on a statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The incident has prompted a strong reaction from local residents, leading to a heightened police presence in the area to maintain order.
The Chenab Times has learned that the incident occurred in the village of Bahlolpur, situated within the Bachhrawan police station limits. Residents discovered the desecration of the statue early in the morning, sparking immediate concern and anger among the community members, particularly those who revere Dr. Ambedkar as a key figure in India’s social reform movement.
In response to the unfolding situation, senior police officials were dispatched to the village. The Raebareli Superintendent of Police, Alok Priyadarshi, assured the agitated villagers that the authorities would conduct a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
