A soldier of the Indian Army has drowned in the Kishanganga River near Tarbal village in the Gurez area of Bandipora district in north Kashmir. The incident occurred on Thursday.
The Chenab Times has learned that the deceased soldier has been identified as Ashiq Hussain Khan. Following the incident, a swift rescue operation was initiated by authorities.
During the search, the soldier’s body was successfully retrieved from the river. Subsequently, the body was transported to Dawar Hospital, where medical and legal formalities were completed. The police have registered a case to thoroughly investigate the circumstances that led to the soldier’s drowning in the river.
