Srinagar, August 29: Alkhuddam Hajj & Umrah Services has secured Category-1 eligibility for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, a significant development for the organisation that serves pilgrims primarily from Jammu and Kashmir and across India. This renewed eligibility marks a return to a favorable status after a four-year period where the company was unable to meet the criteria under revised cluster-based arrangements introduced by the new Hajj policy.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the company previously held Star-1 status from 2019 to 2022. However, the Ministry of Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia restructured the industry into clusters with the introduction of its new Hajj policy in 2024, establishing the Cluster Head as the highest position within this new framework. Alkhuddam stated that it was unable to secure eligibility under these new cluster-based arrangements for the Hajj seasons of 2023, 2024, and 2025, which consequently prevented it from pursuing the top Cluster Head position during those years.
Ambitions for Leading Role in Hajj Operations
The organisation expressed its elation at achieving Category 1 eligibility for 2026, stating in a release, “Alhamdulillah, in 2026 we have secured our place in the eligible list as Category 1. This recognition strengthens our resolve and renews our duty to serve with even greater excellence.” Alkhuddam has set its sights on bringing the Cluster Head-level position (CHGO) to Jammu and Kashmir and has commenced efforts towards this objective. The company articulated its vision to not only participate but to lead in Hajj operations through transparency, disciplined execution, and the highest standards of pilgrim care.
Focus on Diverse Pilgrim Packages
Alkhuddam plans to cater to a broad spectrum of pilgrims during the upcoming Hajj season, offering both economy and value-focused packages. The company indicated that its Premium Economy package might be priced at approximately Rs 7.50 lakh, pending finalization and other applicable factors, with a continued emphasis on maximizing value for pilgrims while ensuring a comfortable and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience. Furthermore, the organisation announced enhancements to its established Alkhuddam Premium Platinum package, available since 2001. This premium service will reportedly receive additional personalization and upgraded amenities, aligned with international standards, with a heightened focus on individual attention, guidance, and enhanced pilgrim care.
Umrah Outreach Initiative Announced
In a gesture of appreciation towards its long-standing patrons and supporters, Alkhuddam also revealed plans to sponsor Umrah trips for eight individuals, who will be selected through a draw of lots. The organisation acknowledged the trust and support it received during the challenging four-year period, citing it as a significant source of strength. “After enduring a difficult period of four years, Alkhuddam is revalidating its founding commitment—to serve Hajjis far better and with greater sincerity than ever before,” the statement read. Sheikh Feroz Ahmad, representing Alkhuddam Hajj & Umrah Services, reiterated the organisation’s dedication to pilgrim welfare, assuring continued efforts to provide reliable, transparent, and high-quality services for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims originating from Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of India.
