Srinagar – The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has initiated a public consultation process, inviting objections and suggestions from all stakeholders on its Draft Jammu and Kashmir Regularized Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers (RReTs) Transfer Policy-2026. The proposed policy aims to establish a transparent, equitable, and need-based framework for the transfer of teachers under this specific category.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the draft policy outlines measures to rationalize teacher transfers, address staffing imbalances across educational institutions, and enhance administrative efficiency and professional mobility within the teaching cadre. The policy also incorporates provisions for compassionate grounds and security-related considerations in the transfer process, ensuring the optimal utilization of teaching resources while prioritizing students’ educational interests and safeguarding the rights of General Line Teachers (GLTs).
The School Education Department has issued a public notice urging all concerned stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, and parent groups, to submit their views, objections, and suggestions in writing. These submissions must be made within seven days from the date of the notice’s publication. Applicants are required to include their full name, designation, address, and contact details to ensure proper consideration of their feedback.
In addition to written submissions, stakeholders can also send their feedback via email to the official address provided in the public notice. The department has stated that the complete draft policy will be made accessible on its official website for all interested parties to review and examine thoroughly. This online availability is intended to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the proposed policy’s provisions before stakeholders formulate their responses.
The department has emphasized that any objections or suggestions received after the stipulated seven-day period will not be entertained. This strict deadline is designed to ensure the efficient processing of feedback and the timely finalization of the policy. Furthermore, the School Education Department has reserved its right to accept or reject any suggestion or objection submitted, without the obligation to provide reasons, citing the broader administrative and public service interests as the governing factors in such decisions.
