Viswanathan, the founder and chancellor of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). G. V. Selvam, Vice-President of VIT, delivered a special address, emphasizing the transformative potential of biotechnology. Further discussions included a panel featuring Ganapathy, honorary distinguished professor at IIM Jammu and distinguished professor at The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University; Mayur Abhaya, managing director of LifeCell International; and Shridevi S, deputy director at the Centre for NeuroInformatics, VIT Chennai. Moderated by Zubeda Hamid, senior assistant editor of The Hindu, the panel explored the convergence of technology and biotechnology. Another critical discussion focused on advancements in gene editing and precision medicine, delving into the latest developments in genomics.
