The world premiere of “Stage,” an immersive concert experience celebrating the legacy of David Bowie, is set to captivate audiences at Berlin’s Uber Arena on February 14. The event marks a distinctive addition to the Berlin Film Festival’s programming, venturing into less conventional offerings.
The Chenab Times has learned that “Stage” will combine previously unseen concert footage of the iconic artist with a sophisticated interplay of immersive sound and light. This multi-sensory presentation aims to transport attendees directly into the heart of Bowie’s legendary performances, offering a unique perspective on his enduring impact on music and culture.
Directed by Brett Morgen, known for his acclaimed 2015 documentary “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck,” “Stage” promises a cinematic and auditory journey. The selection of the Berlin Film Festival for the world premiere underscores the festival’s expanding scope and its willingness to embrace diverse forms of cinematic and artistic expression. While the festival is primarily known for film screenings, this foray into an immersive concert experience signals a growing trend of cross-disciplinary programming in major cultural events.
“Stage” is expected to draw a significant crowd of David Bowie enthusiasts and film festival attendees alike. The experience is designed to offer a fresh and powerful encounter with Bowie’s artistry, moving beyond traditional documentary formats to create a living, breathing tribute. Further details regarding the specific content of the unseen footage and the technical specifications of the immersive presentation are anticipated closer to the premiere date.
