The 15th Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) will conclude with the India premiere of Shashank Walia’s “Birds in the Dark.” The acclaimed film, which won multiple accolades at the Busan International Film Festival, centers on a call center executive who is mistakenly identified as a suspect by a police informant.
The festival is scheduled to run from October 29 to November 1 at the Tibetan Children’s Village in Upper Dharamshala. Information was available with The Chenab Times that this year’s edition will also showcase Varun Grover’s directorial debut, “Damned,” among its other selections, adding further anticipation for the cinematic event.
“Birds in the Dark” marks Walia’s first feature film and has garnered significant attention for its compelling narrative. The film’s inclusion as the closing feature highlights its critical reception and its appeal to audiences seeking distinctive cinematic storytelling.
Further details regarding the full program and additional films to be screened at DIFF are expected to be released closer to the festival dates. The Dharamshala International Film Festival has established itself as a prominent platform for independent cinema, particularly showcasing international and Indian independent films, and fostering dialogue within the filmmaking community.
