According to official statements, the probe revealed connections between these individuals and militants, including those currently lodged in different jails across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The first information report (FIR No. 231/2026) has been registered at the Shopian police station under relevant sections of the law.

The individuals apprehended in connection with the case have been identified as Owais Shafi Naikoo, son of Mohammad Shafi Naikoo, of Saidpora Bala, Shopian; Tajamul Ahmad Shah, son of Ab. Rashid Shah, of Rawalpora, Shopian; Moiz Iqbal, son of Mohammad Iqbal Hajam, and Imdad Yousuf Ganie, son of Mohd Yousuf Ganie, both residents of Chitragam Kalan.

Further arrests include Saqib Zahoor Wani, son of Zahoor Ahmad Wani, and Liyaqat Nazir Lone, son of Nazir Ahmad Lone, both hailing from Murran, Pulwama. Also arrested were Aamir Ahmad Ganie, son of Gh Nabi Ganie, of Armolah, Pulwama; Firdous Thokar, son of Gh Qadir Thokar, of Nadigund, Trenz; and Mohd Hanief and Kaju, sons of Kaju Sheru and Haji Sheeru respectively, both residents of Check Haria, Kathua.

Initial findings suggest that the arrested persons were allegedly collecting funds clandestinely from the public. These funds were reportedly channeled through established financial networks to sustain the activities of LeT and TRF. Authorities stated that the collected money was also intended for providing logistical support, including the procurement of smartphones, to facilitate militant operations.

The Shopian police have indicated that further investigations are ongoing to establish additional financial links, identify other individuals involved in the network, and ascertain its broader reach. Officials anticipate that more arrests are likely as the investigation progresses.

This operation is part of a larger, coordinated effort by security agencies across Jammu and Kashmir to dismantle networks that support militancy and disrupt unlawful financial channels that fuel such activities. The aim is to curb the flow of funds and resources to militant organizations operating in the region.
