JK Police Claim to Have Cracked Controversial Bhaderwah Confession Case

BHADERWAH – Jammu and Kashmir Police have claimed to have solved the controversial Bhaderwah Confession Instagram Page case, involving an anonymous Instagram account allegedly used to spread defamatory content targeting individuals in the region.

The investigation began on January 8, 2025, following a complaint filed at Bhaderwah Police Station. The complainant alleged that a fake email address had been created in his name to operate the Instagram account, Bhaderwah Confession. The account was accused of tarnishing personal reputations by publishing false and defamatory statements.

A First Information Report (FIR No. 03/2025) was registered, and the case was handed over to the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bhaderwah. Police reported making “hectic efforts” to track down the individuals behind the account. Technical assistance from Meta and Google was sought, with additional support from the district’s Social Media Monitoring Cell.

According to the police, the persons linked to the account have been identified, and their electronic devices have been seized for forensic examination.

“We have resolved the case through substantial technical support. The forensic analysis of seized gadgets will further aid the investigation,” the police stated.

The authorities have not disclosed the identities of those involved or confirmed any arrests. Further updates are anticipated as the forensic investigation progresses.
