There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. However, mild tremors were felt across the National Capital Region (NCR), including parts of Gurugram and Faridabad, prompting brief moments of concern among residents.
Authorities have urged people to remain vigilant but not to panic, as low-intensity quakes are common in the region. The Indian Meteorological Department and NCS continue to monitor the situation for any potential aftershocks.
Delhi and its surrounding areas are categorized under seismic zone IV, indicating a moderate to high risk of earthquakes. Experts emphasize the importance of earthquake preparedness, particularly in densely populated urban areas.
