These individuals are accused of transmitting captured photographs, videos, and GPS coordinates to foreign handlers.
Espionage Network Uncovered
The recent arrests have shed light on a sophisticated espionage network that allegedly targeted strategic locations. In March, the Ghaziabad Police arrested six individuals, including a woman, for activities deemed detrimental to national interests, specifically for filming railway stations and security force installations for foreign handlers. Subsequent arrests were made as the investigation progressed, uncovering a wider network.
The repercussions of these arrests were felt immediately in areas surrounding Delhi. Following interrogations of the accused in the Ghaziabad espionage case, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) discovered a clandestine CCTV camera concealed along a railway track near Sonipat Railway Station. Another similar camera was found near Delhi Cantonment Railway Station, along the route towards Naraina and Sonipat, indicating a coordinated effort to gather intelligence through compromised infrastructure.

Reports suggest that the arrested individuals operated through digital platforms, utilizing encrypted messaging applications and social media to maintain contact with their overseas handlers. Preliminary investigations indicate that minors were allegedly exploited to gain access to sensitive or restricted areas without raising suspicion, a tactic designed to circumvent security protocols. The operation was reportedly initiated following specific intelligence inputs, leading to surveillance operations and coordinated raids across various locations in Delhi.
