Nine Indian space technology startups have secured multiple strategic collaborations and partnerships at the recent Space Meetings Veneto 2026 event held in Venice, Italy. The initiative, led by the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), marks a significant step in bolstering India’s private space ecosystem and expanding its global footprint.
The delegation, which included companies such as Astrogate Labs, Astrobase Space Technologies, VyomIC, Suhora, Kepler Aerospace Ltd, Hyspace Technologies, TakeMe2Space, Jarbits Pvt Ltd, and Dhruva Space, engaged in strategic talks with the Italian Space Industry Study Group. These discussions were aimed at exploring deeper commercial and technological cooperation between India and Italy.
Among the key agreements announced, Karnataka-based Astrobase Space Technologies entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Italy’s Impulso Space. This collaboration is set to enhance customer access and explore launch opportunities through integrated mission management and launch service networks.
Further strengthening ties, Kepler Aerospace signed a framework agreement with Apogeo Space. This partnership focuses on expanding global Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) infrastructure and reinforcing satellite collaboration between India and Europe. The agreement also paves the way for exploring joint opportunities in CubeSat systems, payload technologies, satellite infrastructure, and mission operations.
VyomIC also announced a strategic collaboration geared towards the development of next-generation navigation and resilient infrastructure technologies. These partnerships underscore the increasing global competitiveness and readiness of Indian space enterprises.
Dr. P.K. Jain, Director of Programme Management and Authorisation Directorate at IN-SPACe, who led the Indian delegation, highlighted the significance of India’s participation. “India’s participation at Space Meetings Veneto reflects the growing global confidence in the country’s space capabilities and private sector ecosystem,” Dr. Jain stated. He added that the engagements resulted in meaningful strategic partnerships between Indian and international space companies.
The visit and subsequent agreements align with the 2025–2029 India–Italy Joint Strategic Action Plan, announced during the G20 Summit in 2024, which emphasizes cooperation in strategic sectors, including space. This follows the Italian Aerospace Delegation’s visit to India in 2025, indicating a sustained effort to deepen commercial space cooperation between the two nations.
Space Meetings Veneto 2026 served as a crucial platform, bringing together industry leaders, startups, policymakers, and technology providers from various countries. The event facilitated business and knowledge exchange, fostering collaboration and technological advancements within the global space sector.
