Jammu and Kashmir: Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth undertook a visit to forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Pir Panjal region, encompassing Poonch, Rajouri, and Sunderbani. The primary objective of the visit was to conduct a comprehensive review of the prevailing security dynamics and the effectiveness of the counter-insurgency grid maintained by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps.
The Chenab Times has learned that during his operational tour, General Seth received detailed briefings on the evolving security environment within the sector. These briefings covered crucial aspects such as current operational deployments, the efficacy of the surveillance architecture in place, field innovations being implemented, and the overall integrated operational readiness of the forces. Additionally, the Army Chief took stock of the ongoing infrastructure development projects aimed at bolstering the capabilities in the region and reviewed the formation’s consistent efforts towards empowering local communities, particularly those residing in border villages, through people-centric initiatives.
The visit underscored the strategic importance of the Pir Panjal region and the Line of Control in maintaining national security. General Seth’s assessment focused on ensuring a robust defense posture against any potential threats and maintaining the operational tempo required to manage the complex security challenges in the area. The review encompassed both traditional military readiness and the integration of technological advancements in surveillance and operational response.
