Jammu and Kashmir: Union Minister Invites CJP Founder to Join Republican Party of India (A)

SRINAGAR, August 18: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, a prominent leader of the Republican Party of India (A) and a constituent of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has extended an invitation to Abijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), to join his political outfit.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that Athawale, speaking about Dipke, remarked, “I think Abhijeet Dipke is an Ambedkarite. He is active and young. He should consider joining the Republican Party of India (A).” He further suggested that Dipke should contemplate joining the RPI (A) to help realize the ideals of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, strengthen society, and bolster the party’s presence.

The Union Minister articulated his perspective by stating, “We are a government that believes people should be punished if they do wrong. So, he should join the ruling faction.” The Republican Party of India (A) is an established ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party and is part of the ruling coalition at the Centre.

As of the latest reports, Abijeet Dipke has not yet publicly responded to Union Minister Athawale’s offer. Previously, Dipke had expressed reservations about entering mainstream politics, advocating instead for the CJP to continue functioning as a social movement. He had also voiced concerns that the public had lost faith in traditional politics and the electoral system, suggesting that the nation required a robust public movement rather than the formation of additional political parties.

The RPI (A) has historically been active in advocating for the rights and welfare of marginalized communities, drawing its ideological roots from the teachings and philosophy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Its inclusion in the NDA signifies its role in the broader political landscape of India, particularly in representing Dalit aspirations.

Athawale’s invitation to Dipke highlights a potential effort to attract younger leaders and social activists into the established political framework. The Republican Party of India (A) aims to consolidate its support base and expand its influence through such outreach initiatives. The emphasis on adhering to the principles of justice and accountability, as alluded to by Athawale, suggests a focus on governance and societal reform as key tenets of the party’s agenda.

The CJP, founded by Dipke, has positioned itself as a platform for public engagement and advocacy outside the conventional political arena. Its activities and Dipke’s public statements have often centered on critiquing existing political structures and advocating for systemic change through grass-roots activism. The offer from a Union Minister to join a national political party presents a significant juncture for Dipke and the movement he leads, potentially influencing its future direction and public perception.

The RPI (A) is known for its efforts to mobilize support among the Ambedkarite community and other sections of society, with a focus on social justice and equality. Its participation in national politics, often in alliance with larger parties, underscores its role as a voice for specific socio-political aspirations.
