In a deeply tragic incident, a family of five, including a couple and their three young children, were discovered deceased in a village in Greater Noida’s Rabupura area on Saturday. Authorities are investigating the circumstances, with initial indications pointing towards a potential case of food poisoning.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the deceased have been identified as Mahesh, 37, his wife Lalita, 35, their daughter Mishti, 7, and sons Laddu, 11, and Sakshat, 3. They were found in their residence in Nagla Shri Padam village on Saturday morning.
According to local residents and the victim’s mother, the family had consumed noodles for dinner the previous night, leading to the suspicion of food poisoning as the cause of death. Forensic officials and a team from the Food Safety Department were promptly dispatched to the scene to gather crucial evidence and collect samples for analysis.
Police have registered inquest proceedings into the matter. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations to determine the precise cause of the fatalities. Further legal actions will be contingent upon the findings of the post-mortem reports and the forensic investigation.
Dhirendra Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA for Jewar constituency, visited the site of the incident. He informed the Chief Minister’s Office about the unfortunate event and emphasized the need for a thorough investigation. Singh stated that particular attention is being given to identifying whether any toxic substance was present in the food consumed by the family or if other factors contributed to their deaths.
“The untimely death of five members of a family, including three children, in such circumstances is deeply painful and heart-wrenching,” Singh remarked. He added that police, administration, and food department teams are actively engaged in the investigation. The MLA expressed his expectation for an impartial inquiry into every aspect of the incident, with the aim of clarifying the exact reasons behind the tragic loss of the entire family at the earliest.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, raising concerns about food safety standards. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in the ongoing investigation. The detailed post-mortem and forensic reports are anticipated to shed light on the exact cause of death and whether any external factors or negligence were involved.
The village of Nagla Shri Padam is currently under increased scrutiny as investigators work to piece together the events that led to this devastating loss. The community mourns the loss of the family, awaiting answers that will hopefully bring some closure to the distressing circumstances.
