On Wednesday, police claimed to have apprehended an ex-militant who had been on the run for the past 12 years in the Kishtwar area of Chenab valley in Jammu and Kashmir.
The police claimed in a statement that they had caught another absconder (ex-militant) who had been eluding arrest for the past 12 years.
A special police squad of the Police Post Jawalapur was formed based on particular information acquired from reputable sources. According to them, a team lead by PSI Moin Khan and overseen by Dy.SP Hqrs Devinder Singh Bandral raided the suspected sites and apprehended the absconder.
Nazir Ahmed, son of Noor Mohd Gorsi of Budhar Bonjwah Kishtwar, was detained as an absconder (ex-militant) in connection with FIR No. 187/2009 U/Sec.307/ RPC 7/27 IA Act filed at Police Station Kishtwar. Following that, the absconder was brought before the Hon’ble Session Court in Kishtwar, and the accused was placed in judicial custody on the Hon’ble Court’s instructions, according to the statement.
