Late Friday, police in the nation’s capital were searching for a vehicle they say is linked to shooting that killed at least one person and injured at least three others.
During a late-night news conference, Assistant Chief Leslie Parsons of the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C., said the car being sought was a large silver or grey sedan.
According to Parsons, the shooting happened around 8:13 p.m. in the city’s Southeast section.
Officers responding to a report of shooting discovered an injured individual and took him to the hospital, then discovered another wounded person who died later. Two more injured people sought treatment at a hospital on their own, according to Parsons.
The victims were not named, and the medical situations of those who were injured were unknown at the time.
Members of the public with information regarding the incident are encouraged to phone the department’s tip line at 202-727-9099 or text the anonymous tips line to 50411.
