Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of the AIMIM, said on Monday that “a new status quo has been created on the LAC” that “denies our forces access to the areas they historically patrolled,” and that an all-party parliamentary team should be sent to Ladakh to investigate the matter independently.
In a series of tweets about the outcome of India and China’s 13th Senior Commanders Meeting on the remaining issues along the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh, Owaisi claimed that Parliament had not been briefed in detail on the situation and that no questions had been taken in an open press conference.
The declarations made following the most recent round of talks with China, according to Owaisi, plainly suggest “that they’ll continue to remain on Indian territory.”
“It’s unfortunate that a new status quo has emerged on LAC. This prevents our personnel from accessing regions where they had previously patrolled. “Our land has been under Chinese authority for 20 months, yet Parliament has not been told in detail, nor have questions been answered in an open press conference,” he stated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the AIMIM leader, has been “quiet” on the subject.
“Citizens have a right to know the whole truth.” An all-party parliamentary delegation must be sent to Ladakh to investigate the situation independently. “A comprehensive debate in Parliament is required,” he stated.
He claimed the administration was using “half-truths” and that “no serious plan to deal with Chinese aggression” existed.
“We need to know if the government has a strategy in place for the next time the Chinese ‘visit’ Uttarakhand or Arunachal Pradesh.” Is it going to be the same as before? The bottom truth is that the current scenario is intolerable, and the Modi government is fully to blame. He stated, “Our military and our country deserve better.”
On October 10, the 13th session of the India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting took place at the Chushul-Moldo border crossing site.
According to a statement from the Defense Ministry, the two parties focused their discussions during the meeting on resolving the lingering issues along the LAC in Eastern Ladakh.
The Indian side said that the situation along the LAC was created by China’s unilateral initiatives to change the status quo, which were in breach of bilateral accords.
“The Indian side emphasised that resolving the remaining issues will help the bilateral relationship grow. As a result, the Indian side made helpful suggestions for resolving the remaining issues during the discussion, but the Chinese side was not amenable and could not offer any forward-looking proposals. As a result, the meeting failed to resolve the remaining issues,” according to the statement.
The two parties have agreed to keep communications open and to ensure ground stability.
