The All-India University Games held at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, Punjab saw the representation of two talented Taekwondo athletes of Kashmiri origin – Hashim Majeed and Zain Nazir. Both athletes, hailing from Srinagar district, represented Rayat Bahra University in the games and qualified for the quarterfinals after winning their first three fights.
The All-India University Games saw the participation of 150 universities across the country, making it a highly competitive event. However, the determination and skill of Hashim and Zain helped them stand out among their peers. The duo received support from both Rayat Bahra University and Sabar Education Srinagar for their participation in the games.
Both athletes have previously represented Team India and the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory at the Olympic ranking G1 championship and the Junior Nationals, according to The Chenab Times sources. Their experience and dedication to the sport helped them excel at the All-India University Games as well.
The success of Hashim and Zain at the All-India University Games is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport of Taekwondo.
