On the bases of the complaint filled by the cousin brother of jailed Jamia Islamia University Delhi student Safoora Zargar, Kishtwar Police today register an FIR against the culprits involved in online abuse against her on social media viz Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and WhatsApp.
As per the details available, the Cousin brothers of Safoora Zarger—Adil Butt, Abrar Zarger & Tanveer Zarger along with her brother in law Sameer Nabi Trak approach the Police Station Kishtwar and submitted a written complaint against the culprits involved in abuse of the jailed Jamia Milia student and demanded action against the culprits involved in vilifying the female.
When contacted Abrar Zarger said that they were astonished to see the height of morale degradation of some miscreants who are abusing and threatening an expected mother who had been jailed for raising voice in a democratic manner.
Terming her sister innocent, Abrar Zarger said that her cousin is in no mean involved in any violence added that charges against her are politically motivated and demanded immediate of her release.
He said that the government should immediately withdraw the UAPA charges against Safoora Zarger and sought her release from high security Tihar jail.
“Raising voice against NRC/CAA in a peace and democratic way is not a sin— Crores of people took part in these protest— this is democratic right given to us by the constitution” said Abrar Zarger.
He said that the abusive language used by culprit Sunil Kumar Shan and others on social media is not acceptable to any society, particularly in Indian society where the women’s are being treated with great respect.
He urged up the government to remove all hate posts and abusive posts against Safoora Zarger from social media platform.
He said that on the bases of the complaint filled by them, police had inform them that they (police) had register and FIR against accused Sunil Kumar Shan and others and demanded their immediate arrest.
He said one of the accused is a government employee posted as NYC in RDD Block Nagsini.
Senior police officials confirm the registration of an FIR in this regard and assured action against the culprits involved in online abuse against the complainant relatives. He said that law will take its own course in this instant case.
It is pertinent to mention that Safoora Zarger, a resident of Kishtwar was accused by the Delhi Police for involvement in instigating the violence in Delhi during NRC/CAA protest and was booked under stringent UAPA law.(CT)
