As the Covid-19 situation improves, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday that the Capital will gradually reopen beginning May 31. However, the chief minister stated that Delhi will take one step at a time and will not unleash all operations since there must be a balance between containment and the restoration of economic operations. From Monday, only construction operations and factories will be reopened, with the daily wagers in mind. Everything else will be kept closed. The CM stated that a thorough guideline would be issued, asking people not to leave their homes unless absolutely essential.

“The number of Covid-19 cases in Delhi is steadily decreasing, and it is thanks to the city’s 2 crore residents that the pandemic’s second wave has been brought under control in less than a month. Around 1,100 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, with the positive rate dropping to 1.5 percent. In addition, beds, including ICU and oxygen beds, are now available in the city “According to Kejriwal.
The unlocking process for the Capital will begin as the ongoing lockdown continues until 5 a.m. on May 31, according to a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority chaired by lieutenant governor Anil Baijal. “After tremendous effort, the Covid-19 problem has been brought under control. The war has yet to be won. The benefits of the one-month standstill should not be squandered. As a result, experts advocate for a phase-by-phase unlocking, according to Kejriwal.
Migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar who have settled in Delhi work primarily in factories and construction sites, according to Kejriwal, who explained why the decision to open these two sectors was made.
