Chenab Valley’s Ramban accident: LG grieved over loss of lives

Directs departments to carry out road safety audit, rectification measures within a week

Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir, has issued a statement expressing his sadness at the deaths of passengers in a highway accident in Ramban on Saturday and has directed the relevant departments to begin road safety audits and safety corrections within one week.

In a tweet, the office of LG J&K quoted Sinha as saying that he has directed the concerned departments to launch a road-safety awareness campaign on those stretches to reduce the number of traffic accidents caused by human error.

“Saddened by the loss of lives in Ramban road accident. My condolences to bereaved families. I have directed the concerned departments to carry out road safety audit and rectification measures within a week,” Office of LG J&K tweeted.

“Concerned departments should also launch road – Safety awareness campaign on such stretches to check accidents caused due to human errors,” it tweeted
