Maulana Abdul Khaliq Sambhali, who was the vice-rector (naib-mohtamim) of the renowned Darul Uloom Deoband, passed away in Muzaffarnagar today on Friday.
He was a Darul Uloom Deoband graduate who has studied under scholars such as Qari Tayyib and Mufti Mahmud Hasan Gangohi. In 2008, he was named the naaib-mohtamim of Darul Uloom, and he has written several books. The famous Islamic scholar and author Najeeb Qasmi, the founder of Al-Noor Public School Sambhal, is one of his many students.
