Kashmir: Sarpanch affiliated with BJP, His Wife From Kulgam Shot Dead In Anantnag

Unknown gunmen suspected to be militants shot and killed a BJP leader and his wife in Anantnag, officials said.

Gunmen barged into the leased residence of BJP leader Ghulam Rasool Dar (Sarpanch) of Redwani Kulgam in Lal Chowk Anantnag, they said, and opened fire indiscriminately.

Dar and his wife Jawahira were both seriously injured and taken to GMC Anantnag. Both, however, were ruled dead, according to the officials.

Meanwhile, police and security forces arrived on the scene and roped off the entire area. More information is awaited on this developing topic.
