Continuing its efforts to end the nexus of drug peddlers in the area, Doda police again arrested another drug peddler in Bhaderwah.
In a statement issued to The Chenab Times, Doda Police said that today, on 10/03/2022, the police party of P/S Bhaderwah was on routine patrol duty in the Kotli area of Bhaderwah. During patrolling, when the police party reached near the site of Kotli Bridge, they came across a pedestrian who was acting suspiciously and was carrying a black-coloured bag in his hand. The said pedestrian was stopped by a patrolling party and the black-coloured bag that this individual was carrying in his hand was frisked. During frisking patrolling, the party found a yellow polythene bag kept inside the bag in which a coarse powder substance apparently looking like poppy straw weighing 2 kg and 250 gms was found. On enquiry, the said pedestrian disclosed his name as Harvinder Singh S/o Krishan Lal R/O Sumbal Camp, Milan Sahib Jammu.
In this case, FIR No. 28/2022, U/S 8/15NDPS ACT stands registered at P/S Bhaderwah and investigation is taken up.
The arrest of the accused and recovery of Poppy Straw was made under the supervision of Insp Jatiner Singh, SHO Police Station Bhaderwah, and SDPO Bhaderwah, Meer Gafoor, JKPS.
