Los Angeles: Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film. Theron is the latest addition to a stellar lineup that includes Matt Damon, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Anne Hathaway.
Universal Pictures has set a release date of July 17, 2026, for the highly anticipated project, which Nolan wrote and is directing. While plot details remain under wraps, The Hollywood Reporter noted that Damon, Holland, Hathaway, and Pattinson are expected to lead the ensemble, with Zendaya and Nyong’o playing supporting roles.
Nolan is producing the feature with his longtime collaborator and wife, Emma Thomas, under their Syncopy banner. Universal, which distributed Nolan’s 2023 box-office and critical success Oppenheimer, will distribute the film.
Theron, represented by CAA and Hansen Jacobson, was last seen in Fast X and will next appear in Netflix’s The Old Guard sequel.
As per reports, which highlighted that this project reunites Nolan with Universal after the success of Oppenheimer, which grossed $976 million globally and won the Oscar for Best Picture. Unlike Oppenheimer, which Universal acquired through a competitive auction, this new project reportedly went directly to the studio.
Nolan’s new feature has already generated widespread interest, with fans eagerly awaiting more details about the celebrated filmmaker’s next cinematic endeavor.
