Two persons sustained injuries after two vehicles collided on National Highway 44 near Mahoura in Uri on Tuesday. Officials confirmed the incident involved a Tata Tavera and a Maruti 800.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the Tata Tavera with registration JK05D-7342 collided with the Maruti 800 bearing registration JK05B-3563. The smaller car skidded off the road and rolled down a slope.
Both occupants of the Maruti 800 received injuries in the collision. News Agency GNS reported that they were shifted to Primary Health Centre Mohura for initial treatment.
A health official told GNS that the injured individuals are stable. They were later referred to Government Medical College Baramulla for CT scans and further evaluation.
The official identified the injured as Touseef Ahmad Sheikh, son of Mohammad Sadiq Sheikh from Heewan Sheeri, and Ashiq Hussain Sheikh, son of Abdul Majeed from Audoora Sheeri.
Police have registered the case and initiated investigations into the accident.
