Andhra Pradesh Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath hosted a lunch for top-performing students from government schools in Kurnool constituency who achieved excellent marks in the recently announced Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations. The minister personally extended invitations to the students, congratulating them on their academic success.
The event, held at the minister’s residence on Sunday, May 17, aimed to recognize and encourage the hard work and dedication of these meritorious students. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to valuing academic achievements and fostering a supportive environment for educational growth.
The SSC results for Andhra Pradesh were declared on April 22, 2024, with a significant number of students appearing for the examinations. Around 7 lakh candidates had appeared for the AP Class 10 board examination in the state, which was conducted between March 18 and March 30, 2024. The overall pass percentage for the 2024 examinations was reported at 86.69%, with girls achieving a higher pass rate than boys.
Districts like Parvathipuram Manyam, Srikakulam, and YSR Kadapa recorded high pass rates, reflecting the varied performance across the state. The Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh (BSEAP) made the results available online through its official website, bse.ap.gov.in, and results.bse.ap.gov.in.
Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, the state’s Education Minister, has consistently emphasized the importance of transforming government schools to ensure students are globally competitive. Initiatives such as ‘Mana Badi Nadu Nedu,’ ‘Jagananna Vidya Kanuka,’ and ‘Jagananna Ammavodi’ have been implemented to improve infrastructure and learning outcomes in government educational institutions. The government has invested significantly in these projects, aiming to provide quality education to all students.
Previously, in May 2023, the Andhra Pradesh government, under the guidance of Education Minister Botcha Satyanarayana, announced plans to felicitate toppers in SSC and Intermediate examinations, along with their parents and teachers. This program aimed to encourage students from government schools and colleges, with provisions for cash awards, medals, and merit certificates for outstanding performers at various levels.
Minister T.G. Bharath’s engagement with the meritorious students highlights a broader governmental focus on acknowledging and rewarding academic excellence. Such events serve not only to motivate the students who are being honored but also to inspire their peers to strive for similar achievements. The minister’s personal involvement underscores the significance placed on student success and the role of education in shaping the future of Andhra Pradesh.
The event aligns with the state government’s vision of strengthening the education system and preparing students for future challenges and opportunities. By celebrating academic achievements, the government aims to cultivate a culture of merit and encourage continuous learning among the student community.
