Police in Andhra Pradesh have arrested a man for allegedly threatening residents of Kona village in the Krishna district with a country-made gun. The incident, which occurred recently, caused panic among the villagers before law enforcement intervened.
Gun Threat Sparks Fear in Kona Village
The accused, identified as Pera Ramanjaneyulu, reportedly had a domestic dispute with his wife. During a heated argument, he allegedly brandished a country-made gun that he had kept hidden, terrifying his wife. The situation escalated when Ramanjaneyulu then walked into the main village street, openly carrying the firearm. Residents of Kona village were gripped by fear, with many rushing indoors or fleeing the area, apprehensive of potential violence.
Police Intervention and Investigation
Information about the armed man roaming the village quickly reached the Bandar Taluka police. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, secured the area, and detained Ramanjaneyulu. The country-made gun was seized from his possession. A case has been registered, and the police have launched an investigation into how the accused procured the illegal firearm and whether any suppliers were involved in its distribution. The police are examining the possibility of a network involved in supplying such illicit weapons.
