Delhi Man Fatally Stabbed Over Rs 700 Loan Dispute; Three Arrested

A 30-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Delhi’s Rohini area after he reportedly intervened in a dispute over the repayment of a Rs 700 loan, leading to the arrest of three individuals, including one with a criminal history.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the deceased, identified as Mukesh Yadav, was attacked near Begumpur Vihar in the Begumpur area on Sunday. He was initially taken to Aggarsain Hospital but was subsequently referred to AIIMS Trauma Centre due to his deteriorating condition. He succumbed to his injuries at the trauma centre around 2:18 am on Monday.

According to police reports, the altercation stemmed from a loan of Rs 700 that Mukesh Yadav’s brother, Satish, had borrowed from one of the accused, Sachin alias Sagar, a 29-year-old e-rickshaw driver. Police stated that Sachin had been persistently demanding repayment of the sum, which Satish had not yet settled.

A senior police officer detailed that on Sunday, Sachin confronted Satish to demand the money. Mukesh Yadav intervened upon hearing the commotion and attempted to defend his brother, which escalated into an altercation. During this confrontation, Sachin allegedly stabbed Mukesh, causing a severe injury to his right shoulder.

Following a PCR call received from Aggarsain Hospital regarding the stabbing, crime and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams were dispatched to the scene, located on a road between Bharat Vihar and Pansali in Sector 33. Investigators found bloodstains at the site.

After the death of Mukesh Yadav, a case was registered at the Begumpur police station. Police identified three suspects and subsequently conducted raids across various hotels and lodges, leading to the apprehension of all three accused.

During interrogation, the arrested individuals reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime. The accused have been identified as Sachin, Pankaj alias Bhura, a 23-year-old e-rickshaw driver, and Abhishek alias Atal, a 22-year-old auto driver. While Sachin has a prior record, including 10 previous theft cases and being listed as a ‘bad character’ by the Begumpur police station, Pankaj and Abhishek have no previous criminal records.

Police have stated that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
