New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid homage to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary, remembering him as an extraordinary statesman with a remarkable vision who dedicated his life to the service of the nation.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the Prime Minister took to social media platform X to share his tribute, stating that Vajpayee’s words and efforts had inspired generations and his leadership had strengthened the country.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a towering figure in Indian politics and the first leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to hold the office of Prime Minister, was born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior. He passed away on August 16, 2018, in New Delhi.
Prime Minister Modi described Vajpayee as an “extraordinary statesman blessed with remarkable vision” and emphasized that he “dedicated his life to the service of our nation.” He further added that Vajpayee’s legacy continued to guide the nation.
The Prime Minister highlighted Vajpayee’s commitment to good governance and public welfare, stating that these principles would “always continue to guide us.” Vajpayee’s tenure as Prime Minister was marked by significant policy initiatives and a statesmanlike approach to domestic and foreign affairs.
