The historic Gaiety Theatre in Shimla transformed into a vibrant hub for cinema enthusiasts as the 12th International Film Festival of Shimla (IFFS) commenced on [Date of inauguration – assuming current or recent]. The festival commenced with the screening of “Lullaby,” a short film from Azerbaijan directed by Ayan Mammadowa. The narrative of the film is set against the backdrop of the Karabakh conflict, depicting an unlikely alliance formed between two soldiers after a chance encounter on the front lines. The producer of the film also engaged with the audience following the screening, offering further context to the cinematic piece.
The inaugural day also featured a masterclass on documentary filmmaking, held in the Conference Hall.
